Chapter 3, Verse 27
प्रकृतेः क्रियमाणानि गुणैः कर्माणि सर्वशः | अहङ्कारविमूढात्मा कर्ताहमिति मन्यते ||३-२७||
prakṛteḥ kriyamāṇāni guṇaiḥ karmāṇi sarvaśaḥ . ahaṅkāravimūḍhātmā kartāhamiti manyate ||3-27||

3.27 All actions are wrought in all cases by the alities of Nature only. He whose mind is deluded by egoism thinks, "I am the doer."

Krishna now reveals the deeper truth behind all action. In reality, every deed is carried out by the gunas, the qualities of prakriti — Nature's own forces of sattva, rajas, and tamas working through body and mind. The sense of being the independent author of one's actions arises from ahankara, the ego, which deludes us into thinking 'I am the doer.'
This is one of the Gita's most liberating insights. Much of our suffering springs from this false claim of sole authorship — the pride of success, the burden of failure, the anxiety of control. When we see that nature's qualities, not the ego, drive the actions of body and mind, the grip of self-importance loosens. This is not a denial of responsibility but a release from the inflated 'I.' Seeing clearly that we are instruments of a vaster process is the beginning of genuine humility and freedom.

यज्ञार्थात्कर्मणोऽन्यत्र लोकोऽयं कर्मबन्धनः | तदर्थं कर्म कौन्तेय मुक्तसङ्गः समाचर ||३-९||
yajñārthātkarmaṇo.anyatra loko.ayaṃ karmabandhanaḥ . tadarthaṃ karma kaunteya muktasaṅgaḥ samācara ||3-9||
3.9 The world is bound by actions other than those performed for the sake of sacrifice; do thou, therefore, O son of Kunti (Arjuna), perform action for that sake (for sacrifice alone), free from attachment.
