Privacy Policy

What we collect

If you only read the site, we collect analytics about the visit — pages viewed, rough location by country, device and browser type, and how you arrived. No account, no name.

If you create an account, we hold your email address and, if you sign in by phone, your phone number. Google sign-in gives us the name, email and profile picture on your Google account.

If you use the astrology tools, we hold the birth details you enter — name, date of birth, time of birth and birth place — for yourself and for any family profiles you save. These are used to compute your charts and reports and for nothing else.

If you buy something, we hold a record of the purchase, its amount and what it unlocked. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; those go directly to Razorpay.

If you use Ask Krishna or chat, we hold your messages and our replies so the conversation persists and so we can investigate problems.

Why we collect it

• To compute your charts, reports and Panchang — that is what the birth details are for.
• To keep you signed in and show you what you have bought.
• To take payment and give you a record of it.
• To answer support questions and fix faults.
• To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
• To meet legal and tax obligations on transactions.

We do not sell your personal data. We never have.

Who processes it

• Cloudflare — hosting and content delivery for the website and app.
• Supabase — our database and authentication. Your account, profiles, purchases and chat history live here.
• Razorpay — payment processing. They handle payment instrument data under their own privacy policy and PCI obligations; we receive only the result.
• Anthropic — the AI models behind Ask Krishna and our report generation. Prompts containing your question and the relevant chart data are sent for processing.
• Google Analytics — aggregate usage measurement.
• Google AdSense — advertising, where enabled. See below.
• Google Ads — measures whether our ads lead to visits and purchases, and lets us show our ads to people who have visited this site. It uses cookies; see below.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies to keep you signed in and to measure usage. Where advertising is enabled on this site, third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our site and elsewhere on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though signing in will stop working if you block ours.

Our fonts are served from our own domain — they are downloaded at build time rather than fetched from a font CDN while you browse, so no third party is told which pages you read by our typography.

AI crawlers

Our robots.txt currently allows all crawlers, including AI answer engines such as GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and PerplexityBot, so that our guidance content is discoverable through them. This applies only to our published pages. Nothing behind sign-in — your profiles, reports, chats or purchases — is crawlable by anyone.

How long we keep it

• Account and profile data: until you delete your account.
• Purchase and payment records: 8 years, as Indian tax and accounting rules require.
• Chat and Ask Krishna history: until you delete it or close your account.
• Analytics: retained in aggregate; individual event data is discarded after 14 months.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or send it to you in a portable form. Write to gitaguidance1@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will respond within 30 days.

Deleting your account removes your profiles, saved birth details, reports and chat history. We keep the minimum transaction record the law requires us to keep, and nothing more.

Children

Gita Guidance is not intended for children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Access to production data is restricted, and payment credentials never reach our systems. No service can promise perfect security, but we treat birth details as sensitive because they are.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will say so on this page and update the date above. See also our terms, refund policy and sources page.
