Explanation
The verse shifts devotion from limited imagination to truth. Krishna is not merely a historical figure; He is unborn, beginningless, and Lord of all. This knowledge purifies the seeker’s view of life.
Read the traditional commentary
Krishna names the fruit of right knowledge. To know Him as aja (unborn), anādi (beginningless), and loka-maheśvara (the great Lord of all worlds) is to dissolve the fundamental confusion of life — the delusion of separateness and the identification of the eternal Self with the perishable body.
The one freed of this confusion is called asammūḍhaḥ, 'undeluded,' and such a person, even while still mortal, is liberated from all sins. Why? Because sin springs from delusion — from acting as though the small self were supreme. When the true Lord is known as the source of all, the ego's grip loosens, and with it the whole tangle of selfish action that binds the soul.
