Chapter 18, Verse 70

अध्येष्यते च य इमं धर्म्यं संवादमावयोः | ज्ञानयज्ञेन तेनाहमिष्टः स्यामिति मे मतिः ||१८-७०||

adhyeṣyate ca ya imaṃ dharmyaṃ saṃvādamāvayoḥ . jñānayajñena tenāhamiṣṭaḥ syāmiti me matiḥ ||18-70||

Meaning

18.70 And he who will study this sacred dialogue of ours, by him I shall have been worshipped by the sacrifice of wisdom, such is My conviction.

Explanation & Commentary

Krishna extends His grace even to the student of the Gita. Whoever studies this sacred dialogue between Himself and Arjuna worships Him through jnana-yajna, the sacrifice of knowledge — and this, He declares, is His firm conviction.

The verse elevates sincere study to the level of worship. To engage thoughtfully with these teachings, turning them over in the mind, is itself an offering to the Divine, a yajna performed with the intellect rather than with fire and grain. This is deeply encouraging for every seeker: simply reading and reflecting on the Gita with an earnest heart is a sacred act that pleases the Lord. 18.20 That by which one sees the one indestructible Reality in all beings, not separate in all the separate beings know thou that knowledge to be Sattvic.

पृथक्त्वेन तु यज्ज्ञानं नानाभावान्पृथग्विधान् | वेत्ति सर्वेषु भूतेषु तज्ज्ञानं विद्धि राजसम् ||१८-२१||

pṛthaktvena tu yajjñānaṃ nānābhāvānpṛthagvidhān . vetti sarveṣu bhūteṣu tajjñānaṃ viddhi rājasam ||18-21||

18.21 But that knowledge which sees in all beings various entities of distinct kinds as different from one another know thou that knowledge to be Rajasic.
