मय्येव मन आधत्स्व मयि बुद्धिं निवेशय | निवसिष्यसि मय्येव अत ऊर्ध्वं न संशयः ||१२-८||
mayyeva mana ādhatsva mayi buddhiṃ niveśaya . nivasiṣyasi mayyeva ata ūrdhvaṃ na saṃśayaḥ ||12-8||

Explanation & Commentary
Krishna now begins a gracious series of progressively easier instructions, meeting the seeker wherever he stands. The first and highest is given here: place the mind (manaḥ) and the discerning intellect (buddhiḥ) on Him alone. The mind supplies the heart's love and attention; the intellect supplies conviction and direction. When both are surrendered, the result is certain — "you will dwell in Me alone, of this there is no doubt" (na saṃśayaḥ).
This is the direct way, the union of feeling and understanding in God. Yet Krishna knows not everyone can begin here, so the following verses descend, step by step, to gentler practices — a ladder of compassion for every temperament.

12.2 The Blessed Lord said Those who, fixing their mind on Me, worship Me, ever steadfast and endowed with supreme faith, are the best in Yoga in My opinion.
क्लेशोऽधिकतरस्तेषामव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम् | अव्यक्ता हि गतिर्दुःखं देहवद्भिरवाप्यते ||१२-५||
kleśo.adhikatarasteṣāmavyaktāsaktacetasām || avyaktā hi gatirduḥkhaṃ dehavadbhiravāpyate ||12-5||
12.5 Greater is their trouble whose minds are set on the unmanifested; for the goal; the unmanifested, is very hard for the embodied to reach.
