Word-by-Word Meaning
Explanation & Commentary
Krishna completes the description of those who follow the path of the formless Absolute. Though their road is harder, they too reach Him, provided they fulfil three conditions: full mastery of the senses (sanniyamya indriya-grāmam), evenness of mind toward all (sarvatra sama-buddhayaḥ), and active devotion to the good of every being (sarva-bhūta-hite ratāḥ).
The last phrase is striking. Worship of the impersonal is not a flight into private abstraction; it must flower into selfless service of all creatures, for the same Self pervades them. Inner discipline and outer compassion are inseparable. The seeker who restrains the senses without losing tenderness for the world arrives at the very same goal as the loving devotee.
💡 Key Takeaway
Even the seeker of the formless reaches God when sense-control is joined with equal vision and care for all beings.
