Word-by-Word Meaning
Explanation & Commentary
Arjuna grounds his recognition in the weight of tradition. The greatest seers — Narada, Asita, Devala, the compiler Vyasa — have all declared the same truth about Krishna's divine nature. And now, Arjuna marvels, 'You Yourself tell me so' (svayaṃ caiva bravīṣi me).
There is a beautiful confluence here of three sources of knowing: the testimony of the sages (the lineage of revelation), the word of the Lord Himself, and Arjuna's own dawning conviction. When scripture, the living teacher, and personal experience all point in one direction, doubt falls away. Faith becomes whole. The seeker need not choose between received wisdom and direct insight — at the summit they meet and confirm one another.
💡 Key Takeaway
Conviction grows firm when scripture, teacher, and personal experience all point to the same truth.
