Word-by-Word Meaning
Explanation & Commentary
The Gita closes with Sanjaya's serene conviction, a verse of triumphant assurance. Wherever Krishna, the Lord of Yoga, is present together with Arjuna, the skilled wielder of the bow, there will surely be prosperity (shri), victory (vijaya), well-being (bhuti), and steadfast righteousness (dhruva niti).
The symbolism is profound. Krishna represents divine wisdom and grace; Arjuna represents dedicated human effort and skill. Where these two are joined — where the soul's sincere action is united with surrender to the Divine — success and goodness are assured. This is the Gita's final word and lasting promise: bring together devoted effort and divine guidance in your own life, and prosperity, victory, and unshakable virtue will follow.
💡 Key Takeaway
Where devoted human effort joins with divine guidance, prosperity, victory, and lasting virtue are assured.
