Chapter 7, Verse 6

एतद्योनीनि भूतानि सर्वाणीत्युपधारय | अहं कृत्स्नस्य जगतः प्रभवः प्रलयस्तथा ||७-६||

etadyonīni bhūtāni sarvāṇītyupadhāraya . ahaṃ kṛtsnasya jagataḥ prabhavaḥ pralayastathā ||7-6||

Meaning

7.6 Know that these two (Natures) are the womb of all beings. So I am the source and dissolution of the whole universe.

Explanation & Commentary

Krishna draws the two Natures together. From the union of the lower (material) and the higher (conscious) prakriti, all beings are born; these two are the very womb of existence. And since both Natures are His own, He declares Himself the origin (prabhava) and the dissolution (pralaya) of the entire cosmos — the beginning and the end alike.

This is a vision of radical unity. The world is not an accident, nor are creation and destruction opposing forces; both arise from and return to the one Divine. For the seeker, the implication is consoling. Whatever comes into being and whatever passes away is held within God. Nothing is truly lost, and nothing arises apart from Him. To grasp this is to meet change with equanimity rather than fear.

बीजं मां सर्वभूतानां विद्धि पार्थ सनातनम् | बुद्धिर्बुद्धिमतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम् ||७-१०||

bījaṃ māṃ sarvabhūtānāṃ viddhi pārtha sanātanam . buddhirbuddhimatāmasmi tejastejasvināmaham ||7-10||

7.10 Know Me, O Arjuna, as the eternal seed of all beings; I am the intelligence of the intelligent; the splendour of the splendid objects am I.
