Word-by-Word Meaning
Explanation & Commentary
Here Krishna gives Arjuna the master-key that unlocks the entire chapter. Rather than relying on any finite list, the seeker is handed a universal principle: wherever you encounter anything glorious (vibhūtimat), beautiful and prosperous (śrīmat), or mighty and full of vigour (ūrjitam), know it to be born from a mere spark (aṃśa) of My splendour (tejas).
The word aṃśa — 'a fraction' — is breathtaking. Every magnificent thing the world admires is only a particle of the Divine radiance. This transforms the way one moves through life: every encounter with excellence becomes an occasion for remembrance. See greatness, and think of its Source. The admiration that might have fed pride or envy is converted into worship. The whole world becomes a mirror in which, fragment by fragment, the seeker glimpses the infinite light of God.
💡 Key Takeaway
Whenever you meet greatness or beauty, remember it is only a spark of the Divine — and let admiration become worship.
