Explanation & Commentary

Lest the long list of particular glories suggest that God is found only in the most excellent things, Krishna now expands the vision to its fullest. 'I am the seed (bīja) of all beings,' He says — the generative source from which everything springs. And then the sweeping declaration: 'There is no being, moving or unmoving, that can exist without Me' (na tad asti vinā yat syāt mayā).

This is the heart of the chapter. The vibhūtis were never meant to confine the Divine to a select few wonders. Rather, they were doorways into the realization that nothing whatsoever exists apart from Him. The sun and the silence, the sage and the smallest blade of grass — all are upheld by the one Presence. Once this dawns, the whole of existence becomes transparent to the sacred, and the seeker can find God everywhere.

💡 Key Takeaway

Nothing whatsoever exists apart from the Divine — once you see this, you can find God everywhere.
