Explanation & Commentary

Arjuna's appetite for the Divine word is boundless. He begs Krishna to speak yet again (bhūyaḥ kathaya), in full detail, of His yoga and vibhūti — for 'there is no satiety in hearing' (tṛptir hi nāsti). He compares the Lord's words to amṛtam, the nectar of immortality.

This is the unmistakable mark of awakening hunger for the sacred. Worldly pleasures sate and then cloy; one tires of them. But the words of the Spirit are like nectar — the more one drinks, the deeper the thirst, and yet it is a blessed, joyful thirst. When the heart begins to truly taste the Divine, listening itself becomes a form of feasting. Arjuna's insatiable longing is the very condition that draws forth Krishna's fullest revelation.

💡 Key Takeaway

A heart awakening to the sacred is never sated — divine truth is a nectar that deepens the very thirst it satisfies.
