Explanation & Commentary

Here Krishna reveals the reciprocity of grace. To those who are satata-yukta — constantly devoted — and who worship prīti-pūrvakam, 'with love,' He Himself gives buddhi-yoga, the yoga of clear discernment. The devotee offers love; the Lord responds by gifting the very wisdom that leads home.

This is a vital teaching: realization is not won by effort alone. The steady, loving heart becomes a vessel into which divine understanding is poured. We do our part — constancy and love — and grace completes the journey, 'by which they come to Me' (yena mām upayānti te). The path is thus a partnership: human sincerity drawing down divine help.

💡 Key Takeaway

Steady, loving devotion invites a grace that grants the very wisdom needed to reach the Divine.
